a lot of these pictures were taken on the same day. i am often torn between taking my camera around and experiencing life as natural as possible. some days, i just take lots of pictures on my phone. i wish so much that i could capture things exactly as my eyes see them without a need for a huge piece of metal. i’ve been thinking a lot about walker evans, who while riding the ny subways in the 1930s took pictures of unsuspecting commuters with a camera hidden under his jacket. it’s not that i want to capture people in secret, i am just getting tired of the camera’s presence in my photographs.

“ishanee look at that light. i need to capture that light. hang on.”
